Hey there! I’ve got some good news!
The first complete draft of Truth is complete! Phew! This means that most of the scenes are already in place and the general shape of the story is finished. Completing this step makes the possibility of a 2018 release plausible. I’m really excited to share it with everyone!
Truth certainly grew from the idea I originally had, just a short VN with a couple of kids battling a demon. The story became a lot more sophisticated, with stronger visuals even I didn’t expect in the beginning stages of writing.
Now that the first draft is done, the next milestones are the following:
End of April : Second Draft Done + UI & Art Concept Planning Complete
• July 2018 : Demo release •
I say July because I want to give myself a wide berth for the demo, just so we could compensate for any unforeseen events (you know how life is hehe), but if everything goes well, we might be able to finish the demo as early as June 2018. All my patrons will get exclusive first access before we release the demo in public, and they will have access to more insider goodies like art, full game sneak peaks, character profiles etc. If you haven’t checked my Patreon out, why don’t you have a peek? My recent post includes a new excerpt from the game!
(Note: A few weeks ago, one of my followers on Tumblr asked me to break down my goals and motivations for Cupid’s sex scene. I plan on posting up more analyses/breakdowns like these on Patreon. So if you’re interested in this sort of stuff, let me know! There will be spoilers here, so if you aren’t done/haven’t played Cupid, skip this article.)
Hi guys! Just a little heads up before January ends!
So hey! I designed some more extra characters for The Black Beast. They’re adorable and I had great fun making them. What do you think? Can you guess what they need help with?
Other than that, Marionette and I have narrowed down on the updated features we’d like to implement on the game, and revising the story to fit the changes. Things are moving forward, although progress is slow! Personal issues and money problems as usual. Can’t run away from them ehh.. Such is the fate of indie devs!
Have a fun weekend everyone! Thanks for reading this mini update : )
Holy moley… We won! What an amazing honor!
But this is just the beginning! There’s still a lot of work to do to complete this project. Early tester feedback is pointing us to the right direction:
• A more solid game mechanic
• Better conflict
• Utilizing the “Time” element better
• Performance improvements
• Better dialogue formatting for characters
If you’re interested in playtesting it, check out the demo and send us an email! Thanks to everyone who played and supported us through the jam! Everyone who participated had really great projects to show off. I’m really proud of what everyone accomplished!
Our Maximum Monster Month Jam entry is announced! More info soon!
My, this week whizzed by so fast! I barely noticed that it was already Thursday and time for another update. So how are you guys? Halloween is almost around the corner so I guess everyone’s busy with holiday preparations. Have an awesome time!
Happy Thursday everyone! Here I am back again for some weekly updates. It was a very busy week for Fervent, and I’m happy to report that we’ve got a lot done. Click more to see what we’ve accomplished this week!
Well howdy folks!
Finished four drafts out of the nine endings so far, and I have started creating the programming branches and organizing renpy labels. The main story is quite done. We’re clocking in at 30k+ words. Just a few touch ups here and there, and it could actually be called done for a first draft!
Starting this week, we’ll be updating everyone on the status of the Truth’s gamedev every Wednesday or Thursday, so I hope you monitor our progress as we go through the development. The updates are not going to be too flashy in these early stages, sorry! The writing and shaping of the story comes first right now.
