Howdy folks! Big announcement before the quarter of the year is over. I created a PATREON for Fervent and my game-making endeavors!
I have mulled this decisions for a couple of months now, indecisive about the next step in Fervent’s journey. I kept a Patreon draft, but only tinkered with it when the mood struck me. I’m not sure if I wanted to keep up a Patreon. It will be another dish in my already full plate, and I’m not sure if it’s the right platform for me.
I was more or less tolerant with doing much of the work myself. It keeps production costs low and expectations manageable. Unfortunately, I was once again rushed to the ER a couple of weeks ago and that’s when it suddenly clicked.
Time is critical. Time is running out and Time should be respected. (I am out of danger now so please don’t worry! It was a false alarm.)
Even though the trip to the hospital turned out to be nothing, it made me realize how important it is to value the most precious thing we have in our lives. I had to think of ways to push my work to the next level, to commit to something and make my biggest goal a reality… connecting with more people. That is why we do art after all.
I have always been hesitant to share myself to people, having fears of failure and anxieties like everybody else. But I knew if I didn’t put myself out there, I wouldn’t be able to connect my work with anyone.
Doing Patreon is not just a way to make a living. This is me finally committing to creating the work I want to create, finally making the decision to follow this career path. Maybe it sounds silly to some people, maybe even over dramatic, but hell, I am the most flighty person I know and committing to something is a challenge on its own. I want to create something valuable with less time. More time to live and create, less time tinkering with over-perfectionism.
I’m glad I made this decision. I feel very much alive and brimming with ideas on how to build this little nook.
If you want to share this journey with me, please check it out! Pledge if you can, I would be honored. But more than monetary value, I’d cherish your presence most of all. There’s a certain kind of support that fills your heart more than money, and that’s people openly and vocally encouraging and supporting you. It’s a wonderful thing!
So come and join me in Patreon if its your jam! I plan on varying the post structure a bit, so followers see activity even if they don’t pledge. I’d love to have you there!
